Building Emotional Resilience (EL-JSU-01)

Description

Build your emotional toolbox and empower children to flourish.

In a world of increasing uncertainty, more children are affected by stress and anxiety. As a teacher, social worker, youth mentor, or sports coach, you may feel unsure how best to support them, lacking the confidence to help children navigate big emotions. Without the right guidance, stress and anxiety can lead to disengagement and challenging behaviours, making it harder for tamariki to learn and thrive.

Building Emotional Resilience supports child-centred professionals to empower children and young people with the knowledge and skills to identify, understand, and manage their emotions — strengthening resilience and overall wellbeing.

Developed by experienced educators at Jade Speaks Up Educational Trust, this programme is grounded in neuroscience and explained in clear, accessible language to support understanding of how the brain processes emotions. Learning is brought to life through embodied drama-based activities that help children integrate new skills into their daily lives.

Whether you are new to emotional literacy or a seasoned professional refreshing your practice, this self-paced e-learning course provides practical, evidence-based tools to help children regulate emotions, build empathy, and develop resilience as they navigate everyday challenges.
